Ultimates 2 #3

The Hulk is DEAD!

On Tuesday of this week, super genius/super hero, Bruce Banner was sentenced and executed for the murder of over 800 people. The belated trial was quick, and almost seemed to be a formality, as no one could forget or forgive the carnage and horror caused by The Hulk’s rampage some 18 months previous. A rampage that caused such upheaval and suffering that the Earth’s greatest city, New York, has just recently repaired all the damage that it caused, a feat that it seems destined to repeat.

The trial, which took place just last week, was witnessed by hundreds of millions of people worldwide. The general consensus seems to be that Banner got what he deserved, but many are questioning whether this was actually the best course of action. Banner’s attorney, Mathew Murdock, had this to say on the subject, “I was not after publicity… what can be gained by defending public enemy number 1? I believed it was the right thing to do. And I will say this; Banner has done more for this nation, this planet, than any other human being on this Earth today, what has happened here is a tragedy, for us and for him. And I’m not Dare Devil.” Murdock then leaped onto a speeding taxi and grabbed a light pole and vaulted onto the roof of a nearby apartment building.

“To get a detailed view of SHIELD's position on the matter, this reporter got a brief interview with S.H.E.I.L.D. director, the appropriately named “Nick Fury.” “Nick,” I said, “can I call you Nick?”

When the room came back into focus, Mr. Fury politely flung me back into my chair and said charmingly, “You will call me Mr. Fury, now get to the mother (expletive deleted) point.”

“What are your feelings on Bruce Banner’s execution?”

Let me be very clear on this,” spake he, “I did what was required for me to do, and not a day will go by that I will not regret what happened, and not a day will go by that this organization will not sorely miss him.” After a patchy stare, he left me to tend my aching jaw, but I could not help but notice that his path seemed to be beset on all sides by the iniquities of the unrighteous and the tyrannies of evil men.

Due to Banner’s intense super human powers, he was executed in a large explosion on a decommissioned Air Craft Carrier. What this reporter now asks is when is it right, or necessary to take a life? Was it justice or vengeance that has been served? What will history call this, a tragedy? An important step? The beginning of the end? Only time will tell.

Bruce Banner, Alive?
The P.O.O.P. Exclusive

(Peoples Original Objective Press)
Less than a week ago, the infamous Bruce Banner, a.k.a. The Hulk, was executed for a multitude of murders. At least, that is what S.H.E.I.L.D. and the government want you to think. It just so happens that The Morning P.O.O.P. has recently received some interesting information from an anonymous source known only as Mark Millar (writer). In Millar’s document, Ultimates 2 #3, we see some well written proof that Banner’s “execution” may in fact just be a cover up. Millar’s story, while controversial, is well thought out and extremely interesting. It has records of sightings of key members of The Ultimates in what seems to be dissension among the ranks. These records are aptly illustrated by Brian Hitch (penciler) and Paul Neary (inker) in exquisite attention to motion and detail.

In these files, we find that the Hulk has been spotted all over the world. Though some of the sightings may have actually been of the Hulkling, it is doubtful that all of the witnesses were mistaken. (Though a group of rioters did protest in front of Steven King's house until they realized he was not Bruce Banner.) Still, the evidence is staggering that the Hulk might in fact be alive and well, and that Giant Man (Dr. Pym) may have had a hand in this fact. (Props to Peblee for that prediction). What is even more interesting is the mystery of who leaked the info on Bruce Banner in the first place. Many sources point to Thor, but our researchers believe that the deed might have been perpetrated by someone yet unknown. Yet whatever develops, you can rest assured that The P.O.O.P. is on the case.
