Ultimates2 10 |
Just when you think Millar and Hitch have given up on America, along comes this insane issue. If you, like me, had no taste for Hawkeye in the past, you are about to have a change of taste. This book delivers fanboy pleasure like a Girls of Firefly swimsuit issue. This is a book that you cannot afford to miss. Filled with anti-administration rhetoric and action that takes current geopolitical events and magnifies them a thousand fold, Ultimates2 has been a series on the edge. This book has pushed the envelope, taking fans to the point of disbelief. Millar and Hitch have defied all expectations. They brought Fury out of the office and showed us the hard-edged mastermind that runs worlds. They took all of the power away from Thor, diminished Captain America to a high school jock, showed us the Tony Stark who plays the role of lovesick boy toy, but is actually so detached and Machiavellian that he rigs his fiancé with internal scanning devices that make Howard Hughes look fatherly, and perhaps best, the Hulk who devours lesser beings, leaving nothing but droppings for their families to burry. Who are these guys? Is Quesada sweating bullets every time he gets a script? One thing is certain, no matter how inclusive and multileveled Loeb’s writing is it will not ever be able to match the edgy brilliance of the Millar Hitch team. In a ridiculous tip of the hat to fanboys worldwide, this book satisfies with force on the level of meteor impact. If you read any comic books, any comic books at all, pick up Ultimates and Ultimates2. It is the best there is. -Peblee |
