Superman/Batman #18

Bring on number 19. It promises to be glorious.

Really, I don’t have a lot to say about this. I think the only cool part was that Superman and Batman are stuck with the memories of their misdeeds. But really, trying to compare Superman’s sort of, but not really, killing of Wonder Woman with Bruce’s living his whole life with his parents alive, and then giving all of that up, only to have to relive his parents’ deaths again, and to be forced to realize that the entire life that he lived with them alive was thrown away so that he could become Batman and so that Ra’s didn’t rule the world is a little tough. The two aren’t even comparable. One was an act, albeit a very out of character act, by a giant boy scout in which he killed a friend. That friend’s death was so temporary that it was a blip in time which was almost immediately erased. How can that be compared to losing the life that you always hated because you were able to save the ones that you loved most, and then getting to live it straight through, only to have to basically kill your parents and go back to utter misery by changing history again?

A bit loose.

So, I say bring on issue 19. It pomises to be the intro for a new Supergirl title, and that can’t be all bad. I just wish that Loeb would get back to the badass storytypes of yesteryear. You know the ones where the foes are defeated by the wit of Batman and the strength of Superman, with a lot of conflicting views thrown in for color. Not stuff like this, where it all gets ended by dumb-luck and convenient, coincidental, nonsense.

They lose because they killed Superman instead of Bruce Wayne??? Okay...

You know, I have to say that th_s i_ j_st s_rt g_ .. . NO! I contradicted …… w_it y_u f_c_i_g _ss h_les!!!! I’m disappearing to the time at which I b_gaaa…………………….

(Many lives, yet only seconds later...)

Oh, I remember when I wrote this as a silly comic book fan. Now that I have come back as a different, more handsome stockbrokerish me, I will take over DC and make these silly stories disapp…NO! n_t _g aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan! …
