In which I eat my own words, and choke on them.

I feel I owe it to the creators of Young Avengers to write a review on this most recent issue. I said a lot of stuff about the predictability and two dimensional characters that this series was going to have, but I was sadly mistaken. First of all, there is far more to the Young Avengers than meets the eye. It seems that both Asguardian and Hulkling are far more that they appear, but suppress their true abilities in order to play their roles in the sidekick team. In fact, Asguardian seems to have a lot of strange powers, some of which that he hinted at might make him more powerful than Thor, which is hard to be.

What is even more amazing is that I was dead wrong about the eventualities of the plot. Kang does appear and give Iron Man and Caps a run for their impressive amount of money, but when they see the effect young Kang is having on the time stream, they decide to hand him over! Not the “kids save the day and earn respect” scenario that I had so spitefully envisioned. Allen Heinberg and Jim Cheung, if you are reading this then I am sorry. You have shown a depth and independence of thought that is rarely seen in this dark day of Marvels history. I apologize for giving you the short shrift.

So I was wrong, and I’ll admit it. This series might actually turn out to be much better than I originally gave it credit for. Let it never be said that Fumanchu cannot admit when he is wrong. Just very, very seldom, and with bad grace and often violence, but I will admit it. To your grave.
