Teen Titans #25

Wow, it is hard to believe that this series has been running for more than two years. What makes a series good enough to keep on going while other new series, and companies, rise and fall with the drop of a hat? Well, I guess there are lots of reasons, but le me tell why I think Teen Titans rocks so much. First of all the artwork is great. We’re talking about some of the best artists in the biz. Currently it’s Mathew Clark (penciler) and Art Thibert (inker). And then there is the writer. Geoff Johns is most definitely one of the best writers working right now. His stories are free from the entanglements and pitfalls that most DC comics purposefully fall onto or into, but they are also really good. The simplistic nature of the plot and complex interaction between the characters is an oasis in a desert of painfully complex and barely understandable plots.

Currently, the Teen Titans and the Outsiders are working together to stop their respective rouge members. Indigo, the blue skinned, teeny-bopper cyborg from the Outsiders has turned into a muscley death machine and has declared herself Brainiac 8. Meanwhile, in the Titan’s Tower, Lex Luther has activated latent programming within the genetics of his half clone Superboy, which caused him to beat up each of the Titans in turn and then fly off into the blue. In issue #25, he returns for round two and three.

If you are interested in some good, comparatively simple story, great characters, and really good comics, I suggest that you check out Teen Titans. But if you are into not knowing what is going on, conflicting story lines, bizarre plot holes, and confusing time travel, check out the rest of DC.
