Strange Girl #2 |
Now this is not the kind of comic that you see every day. This comic is the story of a young girl who remains behind during the rapture and is forced to work for the big boss type demon Belial. (The Rapture, for those non Messianics out there, is where God takes up all of his followers before the last days of the Earth). Anyhoo, ten years after said rapture, demons rule the Earth and humans are there slaves. The girl in question, Bethany, lives a life of servitude, but one that is much better that most other human women. She has her own place, and though she works at a strip joint, Belial has a soft spot in his… whatever demons have for her, and so she merely serves drinks and gets hassled. But all of that changes the day Belial decides to kill he friend Bloato, and they escape together to search out the secret gate to Heaven. Talk about a good comic, this noir, hell-on-Earth comedy is pretty unique and very fun to read. Bloato, though he can be annoying, is also hilarious. The artwork is extremely sketchy and sometimes confusing, but it is also pretty charming. I have to say that I like it despite its flaws. Overall, I think this is a good comic for anyone to check out, you might even learn something… no you won’t. -Fumanchu |
