Shining Knight #4 |
The girls in this book could kill you. Also, they are going to kill you as soon as they get done killing your friends. You should know, should you be interested in the great Grant Morrison, that the Seven Soldiers series is one of the most ingenious series in the mainstream press. Shining Knight, featuring the heroic derring-do of one, Justin, a former knight of Arthur’s consecutively Round, and then Broken, Table, is a fantastic comic which serves as the base-tale for the impending peril at the center of the Seven Soldiers continuum. This story is F-ing awesome. Especially when you see that 1: Justin is really an extremely badass girl; and 2: The evil enemy, and head of the Sheeda is also a badass girl; 3: She-Justin de-upper-capitates the demonified Galahad – she takes his lid right off. So the lesson you should learn from this: Read Seven Soldiers, but especially Shining Knight, Zatanna, and Klarion, avoiding all but #1 of the Manhattan Guardian (which is a stupid, meandering, and generally pointless comic). Also, we should say that Simone Bianchi is one of the greatest artists of all time. And, he is the artist who draws Shining Knight, in case you didn’t catch that. -Peblee |
