Rex Libris #1 |
This is a breath of fresh, if not massively long-winded, air. Rex Libris, from SLG and James Turner, is a masterpiece of creativity. Orbiting the farthest rings of Hyperbole, this comic is outstanding in its ability to meld the order of the librarian with ancient civilizations and sci-fi fantasy. Here we see Rex, our librarian, doing battle with a Samurai demon, answering the riddles of his buddy the Sphinx, debating a comic book deal with the library administrator – Thoth, the Egyptian deity, and charged with retrieval of Principia Mathematica from Supreme Warlord Vaglox. If you have ever considered becoming a librarian, or just decided to checkout books from the library with the intention of keeping them forever, this is a book you should read! I cannot imagine a more exciting occupation than that of intergalactic librarian, and a more deadly pastime than refusing to return your books to the library. -Peblee |
