Metal Gear Solid #11

Well I have to say that Raven is one tough SOB. After being blown up with a claymore and shot in the head twice, he still manages to chuckle at Snakes unfortunate situation before he is eaten by crows. Now that is a man’s man. What is Snake’s situation? Well, he was thrice betrayed. That is pretty rough, I know. First off, the government is using Snake to gain control of Metal Gear (a nuke launching robot). Secondly, he was infected with a virus called Foxdie which can target certain persons, and he is on the list. And finally, his brother, one of the terrorists, actually used him to activate Metal Gear and now intends to kill him with it.

I have to say that I would not like to be Snake, but he is in good hands. Kris Oprisko’s adaptation of the Playstation game by the same name (Metal Gear Solid, not Kris Oprisko) is both brilliant and, dare I say, kick-ass. He gently washes away all the cheesy nonsense and translation errors with his action packed writing style. (Okay, some cheese is left. There is a robot-ninja.) And Snake has never looked do good (and gruff) as he does in the unique and dynamic artwork of Ashley Wood, whom I would mind dating if she reads this (call me).
