Metal Gear Solid #10

I know we have kept you pretty up to date with this one, so let me just tell you what you need to know. Kris Oprisko (writer) has made a brilliant adaptation of the fan favorite game Metal Gear Solid. He has fixed the plot holes, heavily edited the dialogue, and decheesed the characters, but not too much. This is the kind of story where the over-the-top characters have to have a little whiff of limburger. Ashley Wood’s art is phenomenal. Her swirling charcoalesque cells mixed with contrasting ridged lines portrays this story of larger-than-life heroes and villains perfectly.

In Issue #10, Snake takes out a helicopter and a gorgeous girl, jumps of a building, and begins a battle with a giant wielding a .50 caliber gatling gun (you know, the ones they usually mount on turrets or helicopters).

I have to say that this comic is simply great, over the top, action packed fun. Though it’s not exactly Chaucer, this is a comic that is simply a blast to read. It really is worth the extra dollar that IDW charges.
