Majestic #6

Like the first issue of this run of Majestic, this issue is nothing but a long fight. The difference is that in issue one, there was a conversation between the team of heroes in which they postulated what the source of the problem possibly was; whereas in this issue Majestic and his friend/foe have one of those slug-out conversations in which the bad guy reveals the plot whilst pummeling his prey.

The fact that Majestic is fighting an advanced version of the original Wildcats (an Image comic, moved to WildStorm since Jim Lee owns the Wildcats and WildStorm) “Grifter” character who is neither the creator of the plot, nor the leader of the madness, nor anyone important. He is basically just muscle for the horde of Daemonites who are presently taking over the earth.

So, why the hell should you buy/read/love Majestic? First of all it is a WildStorm book, which makes it a bit different from the Big2. Secondly, it is really one of the most fun comics that you can read. The art is excellent, superbly hero/action oriented. The storylines are well thought-out, thought provoking, often times mysterious, and more entertaining than any hero book on the market.

Beyond that, all I can do is drop plaudits where they are due: Abnett and Lanning, as always a thought provoking story with enough action to keep me alive for another month. And, over and over again, Googe you are perfect for this genre, perhaps the best.
