Infinite Crisis #2 |
You see? Didn’t I tell you that this multi-superhero stuff just gets ridiculous? Now normally I don’t read comic like this, but considering that all of DC comics is about to change, I though I would collect and read all of the buildup to Infinite Crisis. What is it all about? Nonsense. I tell you, DC has bitten off more than it can chew if you ask me, and mark my words, there is going to be a huge, convenient cop out that seems epic but is downright disappointing if you think about it. Here is my theory. With the recent boom in comics, DC and Marvel decided to seriously shake things up with Infinite Crisis and House of M. But while House of M was poorly written and illustrated, Infinite Crisis has so many crises that it has become absolutely ludicrous. It’s like DC just told the writers that they had to make it big, big, BIG! So now, every writer and their kid brother has created some way for all the heroes, or the Earth, or the galaxy, or the universe, or the dimension to be destroyed, and it seems that there is no way for them all to be resolved without some lame, poorly explained incident which magically ends all the trouble. And now, a Superman from a destroyed dimension has decided that this Earth is the wrong one and must be destroyed? What the hell is going on? Did DC start employing eleven year olds with ADD? Or are they just tossing darts at cool ideas faxed to them by their local Junior Highs? Did they have a “Craziest Way to Destroy the World” contest? Sure, it all seems neat at first, but when you really look at it, it’s cheesier than a Jerry Bruckheimer/Michael Bay co-op. -Fumanchu |
