Fantastic Four: House of M #1 |
As you may or may not know, when the first issue of House of M hit my brain, I really hated it. I liked it no less than Wolverine: Soultaker, and believe me, that’s saying something. But, following issue two, I had a drastic change of heart, and found myself not only in a state of love and shame at my previous disgust, but also quite eager to get my hands on the rest of the story: I am blind, and read by brail. I feel Wolverine on like, every cover. Seriously, the House of M stuff was a masterful surprise of enjoyable proportions. This three-part Fantastic Four storyline is sure to be no exception. After reading this first issue, I am nothing but impressed and cannot wait for the rest of the tale. With Doom as the leader of the four, Valeria as the Invincible Woman, their son as The Inhuman Torch, and the Thing as The It, but in a very domesticated-weapon-of-Doom’s-various-whims kind of way, their first mission is to destroy the Mole King. It is a very exciting and quite awesome series of events. Later we see that Doom is regarded highly, for a man, by Magneto; we get plenty of history, including the fate of Reed; and we discover that Doom is just not going to be able to tolerate the pomposity that is Magneto. What is to come? I predict a massive revolt against the House of M, wherein the likes of Wolverine, Iron Man, and Doom will all be fighting together for the overall good of man and super-man kind. Read it! This is the stuff of legends and stories that will be remembered for all of time!
