Hellblazer 218
This is a seriously great story line in a seriously great comic series. That alone should merit a peak, but if you intend to, I suggest you at least buy the last two back issues as well. This is a great time to get into the Constantine series. John has recently had a huge turning in his life and most of the people he knew are dead. That means knew people stories and concepts.
As for this story, what seemed to be a simple magical prank turns into a bizarre mystery. Constantine helped a man with a simple curse, only to accidentally erase his memory right before they find his girlfriend dead. Now he’s on the hunt for the prankster with a possible murderer and hounded by creepy bastions of hell. What is worse is that the prankster seems to be luring him into something even more sinister than we have seen thus far.
Denise Mina (writer) has flawlessly captured the spirit of Hellblazer. This is a comic that has made some serious landmarks in comic history, and it is only getting better. Now is the time to jump on if you don’t collect it already. Even if you have to give up a few Lara Croft mini series in the bargain.
