Batman: Gotham Knights #65

I am so depressed. I cannot tell you anything much about this issue, other than it is sad, and predictable against all hopes. I have loved Liberman’s stint on Gotham Knights. This whole Poison Ivy storyline was massively entertaining, and Barrionuevo’s art displayed an Ivy that was frighteningly appealing.

I think that my only problem with this arc was the unneeded, ridiculous, and unbelievable presence of Hush, who seemed to be in the book for no other reason than his novelty. He is a cool character in concept, but being revealed as the Dr. Tommy that he is, I find it obscene that he continues to traipse around like a frayed mummy with a gun. I have always thought that men who sneak around in shadows with nine millimeter handguns should not have to have a mask, but if they really want to keep their identity from the people that they kill, why not use an effective mask? You know, the type that actually hides your facial features?

Hush aside, this has been the best Batman story running in a while, and I am very sad that it has come to an end. And what a terrible end. I am so upset, that I am about to lose my lunch all over this week’s issue of Superman. Or, should I have enough gastral warning, I will march upstairs to be sick on a stack of comics comprised of Wolverine: Soultaker, The Human Race, Black Panther #1 (recent edition) and DK2, which sucked and was only successful because of the first series. Honestly, the Flash being trapped and forced to run to power Metropolis?

The thing that I should say to all of you readers, meaning of course Fumanchu, is that this is one of the most memorable Batman stories that I have ever read. I would recommend the trade, if they come out with one, to anyone whether they like Batman or not.
