Fantastic Four Foes #4 |
After an attack by the Mad Thinker, the F4 come into possession of DNA samples of all of their enemies, and Reed (Mr. Fantastic) decides to use the samples to hunt down each enemy “on their own terms.” Meanwhile, Andre Lewis is busy designing both a new Raft (super human prison recently destroyed) and a new prison in the N-Zone (inescapable, transdemensional prison yet to be built). Unfortunately he seems to be under the influence of a bug faced freak that he makes out with periodically. After Susan gives a serious beat down to a Skrull (which was very, very cool), the F4 decide to go after their first target. This comic, written by Robert Kirkman, is both funny and entertaining, but doesn’t really seem to go anywhere. We only have two issues left, and it seems like the first four keep setting up plots, just to shift into new ones. I really have no idea where this one is going. The art, by Cliff Rathburn, is pretty cartoony, but the facial expressions are just great. Sometimes, though, the art becomes very sketchy and rushed. My final verdict is that the series is all right, but seems like there isn’t a lot of effort put into it. I hate to say it, but there isn’t really anything special about it. Maybe they will prove me wrong in the next few issues, but I don’t predict it. -Fumanchu |
