Ex Machina #12

Ex Machinna! It sounds like a thing that you would yell amidst a song, like “Mas Tequila!” And, truth be told, you should be yelling about this book; this, and every other book by Vaughan – Y the Last Man in particular.

So, why aren’t you yelling?

This book, which as I am sure all three of you know, is about a fellow who can talk to machines – even the simplest of machines. But it is not always as simple as telling them what to do. Many a machine requires some heavy convincing. And, unless I am mistaken, that sort of narrow minded machine is just what Hundred is going to be facing for the next however long.

The artwork in Ex Machina, by Harris, Feister, and Mettler (pencils, inks, colors, respectively) is exceptional. I know that the book garnered some Eisner Award nominations, but in my opinion it deserves the awards. Of course, Vaughan has won Eisners before. If I am not mistaken he has won at least once before for Y the Last Man.

Be advised, this is great comic that is presently simmering only to be brought out around issue 16 as the best in the biz. Don’t believe me? See Y the Last Man.

Hats off to Vaughan and the crew for a great first year, and here’s to many, many more.
