Day of Vengeance #3

Spectre, as some of you may know, is the most powerful known being in existence. He also, as some others of you may also know, has to have a human host to remain lucid. What is more, as the nerdiest of you may know, the Spectre has recently lost his host, Hal Jordan, and is wandering aimlessly without one. This is where Eclipso, mysterious lady of darkness, steps in and uses Spectre’s confusion and her own sexy bod to convince Spectre that magic is an evil plaguing the world and must be destroyed. So the enamored Spectre sets about to destroy every single magic user from the mightiest to the weakest.

In issue #3, the Spectre has destroyed or subdued almost all of the great magic users, and then sets his sights on Shazaam. Who is Shazaam? Well, after a hearty chortle at you expense, I will tell you. Shazaam is the wizard who gives Captain Marvel his power (that’s the DC Marvel, not the Marvel Marvel). If you don’t know who Captain Marvel is than hoo man… actually that’s okay because he never has any good comics.

So while The Spectre is distracted by Captain Marvel, a ragtag band of mediocre magic users decide to strike at eclipse in an attempt to stop the Spectre’s onslaught.

Thus far, this series has been both extremely good and extremely clever. Plus I am very interested to know who the Spectre’s next host will be (Ted Kord, Ted Kord, Ted Kord). So if you call yourself a comic fan, you better read this series and find out what is to become of the DC’s greatest hero.
