Conan #19 |
Nord is back, minions! You know what that means? It means the most amazing Conan writer/artist combo is back in action with a great one-shot tale of treachery, treasure, and gods. This was an excellent Conan story, “The Thing in the Temple,” adapted from Robert E Howard’s tale by the most assuredly adept Kurt Busiek. And, as you cannot have doubted, this story is grittily and beautifully drawn by the master, Cary Nord, with some excellent coloring by Dave Stewart. Actually, Dave Stewart has got to be one of the best colorists in the business. This story finds Conan gallivanting about with his lady of the week, only to run into an old friend-turned-thief. When Conan takes a sacred item from the local temple, the item is pursued by something. In fact, it is the very “Thing” from the title, and let me assure you, it is as thingy as it gets! You must be reading this stuff. There is nothing more fun. -Peblee |
