Who can say that Conan is not the most excellent comic on the market? Who?! I WANT HIS NAME!

Conan is filled with realistic, three-dimensional characters that make you and your life so boring, I can barely write this to you. Even the children, as evidenced in this issue and another some issues back, are more adept at true social and antisocial behavior than you or your haircut could ever pretend. I am serious. This book makes you take a hard look at yourself. It causes you to wonder if your own life is even comparable, and no…no it’s not.

To say that Conan’s life is hard is to speak out in atrocious understatement. His, as well as the lives of all the women and children among the Cimmerians, is a life so challenging that it would seem insurmountable to the rest of us.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT’S JUST A STORY?!!!

Conan may be a tale, but being so raw, so rugged, it comes to life to an extent that makes it real, solid, stonelike. It is as if you are stumbling upon some tidbits of history, lost to all but those who follow Busiek, as he follows Howard.

This is a book for the ages. It is my prediction that, as the years pass by, Conan the Barbarian and this iteration of Conan will be recognized as essential pieces for any comic collector. But, beyond collecting, these books represent the greatest of the Fantasy genre. And this volume of Conan, written by Busiek and filled with its bitterly rough and gritty art by the hands of Nord and Ruth, represents this genre at its pinnacle.

Lowly are ye that would deny this book a glance, and wrong in your wicked and none too clever hearts.
