Captain Atom: Armageddon #1

I am so sick of half-arsed comics putting hot artists’ goods on the cover to peddle their mediocre product. This book is not good, first of all. Many of you, I know, will love it because of all the pretty colors, but that is no reason to sell yourself short.

I know, I know. It showed potential. But, listen to me WildStorm, at $3.00 a pop, I can’t afford potential. I would love to come to the computer, sit down, and give some pie-in-the-sky rave review about a smash-hit, universe-crossing, unbeatable 9-part maxi-series. But instead, you are looking at 27 dollars that you can never get back. I think that is more akin to pie-in-your-eye.

I like the WildStorm U, but this is just placating some guy with half an idea for a has-been player in the DCU. Captain Atom, no matter how you spread the red around on his metallic skin (which, by the way, should only be slicked across his back-side) is still just Captain Atom. If he is so important, why hasn’t he become a Major or a Colonel?
