Books of Doom #1 |
This is a mini series that will no doubt excite many comic readers. This is the story of that most legendary Marvel villain, Victor von Doom. Unfortunately, there is not a lot in this first issue for those who don’t know who Victor von Doom is, but for those of you who do, this series is a must have. But readers who don’t know Doom need not despair. This comic is well written, and I believe it is going to get very interesting, even for the casual reader. If nothing else, it is great for the super-fans to see Victor in this unusual, story telling repose; his hands folded, his eyes inviting. This is definitely an unusual look for Dr. Doom. As to whom he is telling the story to and why people are being interviewed, I cannot tell you. But I will promise you that this book will be mean, dark, gruesome, and most importantly, informative. As for the art, I can’t help you there. I just really don’t like that psuedo-cartoon style where everyone is so roundy, and all the characters look alike. Still, the writing is great, and the cover art kicks ass. So, what the hell, check it out why don’t you? -Fumanchu |
