Batman: Jekyll & Hyde #2 |
There’s not much going on this week, so I will fill you in on Batman: Jekyll and Hyde incase you don’t feel like reading it yourself or you don’t know whether to buy it or not. The answer is yes, you should, especially if you are a collector. Batman mini series are always in demand, and Jae Lee is one of the best Batman artists ever. (He’s just one of the best comic artists, period.) Jae Lee’s style involves a whole lot of ink. It so very dark and harsh, it almost looks corrosive. As you can imagine, this works very well with Batman. Paul Jenkins’s story involves a lot of people going crazy and a scientists working on a chemical which can separates man’s two halves. (Sound familiar? It should! The series is called Jekyll and Hyde you uncouth ruffian! I chortle at you Philistine ways! CHORTLE!) This issue is actually pretty slow until the end, but it does fill you in on a lot of important plot info and an explanation of last issue's cliffhanger. Still, this series is excellent, and it is far better that the mindless nonsense that is going on in Batman’s main series. (A bunch of halfwit plots and pointless junk that I would expect from Superman, but not you Batman. I am ashamed. What would Bob Kane say?) This series is far more intelligent, well written, and actually feels like a Batman story. So keep collecting your Batman issues, but if you want a real story about the Dark Knight and not a bunch of DC filler, check this one out immediately.-Fumanchu |
