Batman 650 |
This may come as a huge shock to you, but in this cutting edge, unprecedented issue of Batman, the Dark Night and Jason Todd come face to face for a battle of skills and wits to loudly argue the merits of killing vs. not killing, and the events before and after Jason’s death. Hoo boy… I tell ya. When will the innovation end? What’s that you say? This has been the plot of every single of the last 10 or so issues? No way! Well what about Jason threatening to kill the Joker if Batman didn’t kill him first! HA! Oh, he did that with the Black Mask too, huh? Well what about the soliloquized fight battling new and old methods and gadgets? Uh-huh. Yeah. Every issue? Huh. But you can’t beat the gut wrenching confrontation between Batman and the son he failed! Oh… I see. Also in every issue. Well what is new in this issue? I’ll tell ya. It’s the fake end. Yes, I hate to ruin it for ya, but the Joker blows them all up. Batman, Jason, and himself. Whoops! Cat’s out of the bag now. But don’t worry, I am sure by some super lame, multi dimensional plot hole, I mean device, they’ll all be back again before DC can receive too much hate mail. LAME! I guess that when something as big as Infinite Crisis comes along, a comic company is forced to divert all their talent and energy into such blazing titles of brilliance such as Villains United and The Rann-Thanagar War, and has no time for such small, unimportant titles like Batman. Thus we get second rate comics that must tie into the overall marketing scheme, I mean main story, without being required to actually agree with that story or make a lot of sense. Yes, this is truly the golden age of selling cheap, under-skilled comics. Cowboy-up DC, cowboy-up. -Fumanchu |
