Batman #643

I am putting this Batman issue on the website simply because I love the Joker, and he is especially awesome on this cover. Inside the book he is equally impressive in his murderous insanity, and his intelligently skewed logic. I do wonder, however, didn’t he get his head smashed by Little Robin Redhood? I think that he did. For, if mine own memory serves me correctly, that was the first moment in which we witnessed Redhood remove his reflective red hood (which serves as a grand mask, in that no one can recognize you lest they trained you and hence forth knowest thine every move) only to reveal that he is a maskophile, proven by his wearing of a second mask behind the grassy knoll. He did this little take the mask off to reveal an awfully revealing mask routine immediately after he bashed the Joker’s head in. So why is the Joker without a blemish, save remarkably bad hair? I don’t know.

These things aside, it was revealed in a most unsubstantial way that Black Mask is the perpetrator posing as Batman’s criminal doppelganger. So with a great big AHHHHHH! You can rest your mind, CGC this book due to it having the best cover since that Jim Lee 619 variant where the Riddler’s playing chess with all of Jeph Loeb’s players. And, for those of you placing bets on next year’s Eisner Awards, I would steer clear of Batman.
