As those of you who follow the story will know; Cassandra (Batgirl) is on a mission to discover who her mother was. And right now, all of the signs point to Lady Shiva. After she realizes that Cain won’t tell her and the other members of the league of shadows don’t know; her only option left is to hunt down Lady Shiva and ask her personally. Thus she is forced to seek the aid of Oracle, despite their recent falling out. Isn’t it about time we had a good Batgirl/Birds of Prey team up?)

Though the cover art is awful, the interior art is pretty good. You can tell that it is very well done, but something about the style really annoys me… Oh yeah! All three girls on the plain other than Cassandra have the same face. The writing gets an “OK” from me, but I really missed Cassandra’s Batman-like inner monologue, which was almost entirely absent.

But more importantly than all of that technical stuff is another glaring hint that Batgirl might be playing for the other team… Oh, I’m not talking about the bad guys, I’m talking about the ladies. Yes, in the recent issues, there have been some strong hints that Cassandra might share some common interest with the granola girl that runs the local coffee shop, but in this issue, it seems that the current and former Batgirl may have an as-of-yet unrealized connection.
