Astonishing X-Men #10

So using the various parts of the machinery which were torn from the heart of the Danger Room, the room takes on the form of a skinny large breasted no-breast of an android with the ability to morph and the great knowledge of each of the X-Men’s skills due to their countless fights inside and against the Danger Room. And, it is armed with this knowledge and strength to match it that the Danger Room commences to kick each and every ass of the main team of X-Men.

This whole fight is framed in by a comic book device involving the Danger Room Girl having a conversation with Professor X, explaining the fight and reveling in her victory. Now she-it is on her way to Professor X to fight, and hopefully (for her) kill him.

Well this has turned out to be a pretty enjoyable story, but one which I still don’t understand. Why is it that the Danger Room wants to be a real girl? This sort of Pinocchio fantasy doesn’t seem like a worthy topic for a title which made its debut as so vastly cutting-edge.

I guess I like this book. It is enjoyable to read, but once I pull my head back out of the comic and I realize what I just read I feel a strange feeling. Is it embarrassment? Yes, I think so. Why is that? I am not sure. But I do know that I don’t like it. And, it doesn’t like you.
